David Cassidy and the first day of school

I totally got your attention with the caption didn't I?!  OK before I can post about the first day of school - David Cassidy is on the Oprah show and while I don't usually watch her I caught myself with a HUGE grin as I was watching him perform while checking email.  I didn't realize I was that old?!  ; )  As for the first day at school - it was great for both kids.  Mason had a good one but is a bit touchy this afternoon (he is very tired).  He said going to 2nd grade was not as scary as kinder and first because he knew what he was doing.  Cooper was amazing this morning!  We got out of the car and he told Jeff and me, "I'll just go ahead and go to my class - I remember where it is."  We told him that parents were supposed to walk their kids to class on the first day of school.  He looked so big when we left (sitting in his seat and coloring his first paper).  He didn't say much when we first went into the classroom, but when we left he was talking up a storm to the little boy next to him.  His classroom is right next door to the special ed teacher's room and Ms. Wagnor (Coop's teacher) had already asked if she could use a weighted lap pad if needed.  When she told me that I almost hugged her!  I stopped by and introduced myself to the special ed teacher and we talked for about 5 minutes or so and she assured me that she would visit with Ms. Wagnor on a regular basis and also said that she was very good with kids like Coop.  GOD IS GOOD!!!!

I am so happy to hear about the day. I thought of you several times today and was going to call and check on you, but Clark gets jealous of the attention I give the phone, so I thought better of it :)
Does Zoe go to the dr. tomorrow for her sweat test? more prayers coming your way...

Relief. I can only imagine what it feels like to send two off into someone else's care for the day. We teach them God will always be with them and protect them, but I bet it is hard to have faith in that when you are a Momma watching your kids walk into school.
